January 2025 added $4.4 billion in new awards, though it was lower than January 2024's $5.4 billion. The non-building sector was significant, with nearly $1.3 billion in awards, primarily for highways and water supply systems. Residential construction exceeded $1.2 billion, mostly for single-family homes. Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery Counties represented 90% of new construction, with Harris County alone at 63%.
